Understand lead stages, retainers and these inputs

Raw leads and qualified leads need different levels of intake work. Exclusive leads and shared leads describe distribution. Model each program separately with its own signing rate.

Signed retainers are the signing-stage outcome. Accepted cases are those your firm accepts after its required review. Use both rates from the same delivery group and allow time for outcomes to mature.

If you are buying a retainer program, use its per-retainer cost and delivered retainer count, and set the signing rate to 100%. The acceptance rate still reflects your firm’s subsequent review.

Unit cost should include the campaign fees you want to model. The calculator does not automatically include intake labor, records or later legal costs.

Illustrative assumptions, not TortHarbor pricing, benchmarks or a forecast. Include campaign fees in unit cost. Excludes subsequent records, legal work and financing. Acceptance means your firm accepts a retained claimant after its review. Values stay in this browser.

Use a consistent definition of acceptance.

A signed retainer is not necessarily a case the firm accepts after records and other review. The second conversion rate captures that distinction. Use outcomes from the same delivery cohort, and allow enough time for the firm’s review before comparing sources.

For illustration, 100 leads at $200 each cost $20,000. At 20% signing and 70% acceptance, the model produces 20 signed retainers and 14 accepted cases: approximately $1,429 in acquisition spend per accepted case. These figures are examples, not performance claims.

Fractional outcomes represent mathematical expectations, not portions of an actual case. The model excludes later records, legal work, financing and any intake costs you have not included in the unit cost.
